Do you or your students have a passion for HipHop? Have they heard of beatboxing? Maybe they haven't? Either way you and your students will have so much fun exploring rhythm, composition, and music technology through the lens of beatboxing. Beatboxing is the practice of using your mouth to emulate a drum machine. We will quickly review the history of beatboxing, warm-up our mouths, then use the Chrome extension drum machine Drumbit.app to create some grooves. After groove creation we will execute them with our mouths using sounds we learn to make during the lesson. We will also work to use the drum machine to compose new grooves and execute them.
