Greetings, Arts Community!
This week on Wisdom Wednesday, we are discussing the connections between CommonTime and community service.
As you may know, CommonTime’s mission is to democratize the arts by giving educators access to world class artists on demand, giving artists a place to teach and share their talents and content on their terms, giving arts organizations a way to grow their audience using ticketed livestreams, and creating a global arts ecosystem. This makes us the perfect platform to bring in community service. To learn how CommonTime and community service go hand-in-hand, watch the full webinar below or read on:
First, our Art of Giving Campaign is going on now! Through the Art of Giving, when you book a lesson with a participating CommonTime artist, that artist will donate a free session to a group of children in need through our partnerships with the Global Schools Forum and the Voices of Children Foundation in Ukraine. Your arts program could use donated or raised funds to not only get world-class artists into your classrooms, but also to share the arts with learners in need! Likewise, you can donate lessons directly. When you give any dollar amount, we will use those funds to book CommonTime artists who will provide free, engaging arts lessons to our outreach partners. Children get free arts lessons, and artists get paid!
Second, CommonTime is the ultimate fundraising platform. With CommonTime, educators can register their school arts program as and arts organization to host and ticket events. These same arts organizations can host pre-recorded content for sale. Imagine funding your program with your art instead of selling popcorn, discount cards, car washes, or cookie dough! Let CommonTime help your program's next fundraising initiative, whether it is to fund your art or provide service to your community.
Lastly, check out this Wisdom Wednesday blog post on Service Learning in the Arts. Whether you are in the investigation, planning, action, or reflection phase of your Service Learning journey, bringing in a CommonTime Teaching Artist is the best way to help your students construct meaning in their learning.
As you can see, CommonTime and community service go together like a wink and a smile!
