Dear Arts Lovers,
It’s Time to Fall into Change, whether it is a change of seasons, starting a new job, or returning to a new work year after the warm summer holidays. It is the time to decide what we want to change, improve, or celebrate more in our lives. In the Northern Hemisphere, we see the leaves changing into a myriad of fiery colors and the air getting cooler. Here in Germany, we are already celebrating the Oktoberfest, simultaneously with the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival in China, Japan, Korea, and more. Soon we will turn our attention to India’s celebration of Dussehra and Diwali, the Festival of Lights, as our days become shorter. We are a part of the change of the seasons, and as part of the change we embrace these festivals as a reflection of our art and cultures.
In this time of harvest, let us share our abundance, our point of connection of festivals and change, and connect our stories to what brings our humanity closer together. As we Fall into Change, let us embrace what connects us, celebrate what excites us, and act on what improves us. Keep the arts center to these connections and enjoy these festivals!

October 14-18 is the Fortune Institute of International Business Research Conference on the theme "Rethink, Reimagine, Redesign Businesses for Meaningful and Mindful Impact." FRC 2024 is FIIB’s annual research conference that aims to bridge academic knowledge with its applications in practice. The event includes paper presentations, paper development workshops, confidence building competitions, cutting-edge keynotes, and networking opportunities with editors and reviewers.
CommonTime artist and professional dance and choreographer Pascal Sangl will be presenting Moving Heroes, how his work empowers communities through artistry and movement. FIIB invites all interested parties to attend, whether you are a seasoned researcher, early career academic, doctoral candidate, or a practitioner.
We are excited to share that The Art of Arts Entrepreneurship, CommonTime’s joint venture with the Fortune Institute of International Business, will soon return for its second run! The Art of Arts Entrepreneurship is an online seminar designed to give you – the working artists of the world – the essential entrepreneurial skills, business acumen, and marketing strategies you need in your art career.
Here is what one of the students from the first cohort had to say about The Art of Arts Entrepreneurship:
The guest speakers were amazingly curated for highly informative discussions around hot topics and concerns… Jeff’s instruction and insights were like a fast track through some of the stumbling blocks and it really helped me think further ahead in the process of getting my work into the industry at a faster pace, grateful for getting a boost in momentum with everyone’s knowledge and understanding. It’s been amazing!

The Art of Arts Entrepreneurship is planned to return in early 2025. Stay tuned for more information!
On Friday, October 18th, Germany's top jazz guitarist Daniel Stelter and the Orchester der Kulturen will come together to perform a symphonic interpretation of traditional Chinese, Korean and Mongolian folk songs, entitled "A crescent moon illuminates the world." This concert, conducted and orchestrated by Adrian Werum, is a meeting between guitar and orchestra, between East and West. Popular Chinese folk tunes merge with the precision of classical German culture into a poetic panorama of incredible proportions!
If you’re in the Stuttgart area, you won’t want to miss it!
