But I enjoy sharing happy and funny moments with my students too, and the secret is in customizing the materials for each student taking into consideration his background, age, expectations, and needs, so the learning process will be productive and enjoyable at the same time. I like to push my students to their limits, keep them excited, and challenge them so they give the best of what they can! I am not only a composer, but a musicologist, theorist, conductor, and pianist (I play bassoon too!), so I can cover all that my students need from simple songwriting and basic music theory and musical form to the very complicated compositional technics, harmony, counterpoint, and music analysis, passing by the art of arranging, orchestration, instrumentation, and engraving. As I came from an Arabic country, Lebanon, I am specialized in the traditional music of the Arabic region (Master in musicology of tradition from the Antonine University), I always give special attention to Arabic music theory and practices, and I will always be happy to share my experience and secret strategies for harmonizing the Arabic Maqam, and how you can, as composer or performer, get inspired from the elements of the Arabic music heritage and apply them to your own music. My lessons can be provided in Arabic, English, or French.
