"Learning music is not only focus on techniques and reading scores. We also need to open our ears to listen, to feel and to play music with our heart!! Hope my teaching can inspire you to find your way in music!" Brenda Poon is a freelance percussionist and classical musician from Hong Kong. Brenda earned her Master’s degree in composition and Bachelor’s degree in percussion performance, both from Hong Kong Baptist University. She also studied professional certificate on Drums with Yoron Israel, Rod Morgenstein, and Jim Payne in Berklee Online. Brenda is now a teaching artist in CommonTime Online. Brenda is an experienced percussion educator and percussion band conductor in various primary and secondary schools. She also worked as an adjudicator in percussion and marching band competition. When she isn’t teaching, she is performing! She has drummed for various orchestras, wind bands, indie bands, and festivals held in Korea, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Macao, and Guangzhou. She is a co-founder of the percussion quartet “Rhombus”.
