In this event, conductor and composer Adrian Werum will share experiences, ideas, and resources on how to enrich multicultural projects and build intercultural relationships in and through music and theatre.
This workshop is geared towards music educators, composers, and those seeking clear ways to embrace and perform DEIJ (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice) through the arts.
Participants in this workshop will learn how to guide, harmonize, improvise, and conduct without notation for either band and/or orchestra through exercises and group work. Discover how to work with refugees both on and off the stage by creating a safe environment for expression, social-emotional outlets, and a sense of community through the arts.
No materials are required other than a good sense of humor and an excitement to learn how to practice multiculturalism and inclusion in your music program.
